Alex is the Director of the Urban Planning & Design team and carries a passion for advancing equity and empowerment of underrepresented communities through creativity, collaboration, and capacity building. Alex believes that we all possess unique lived experiences of our own neighborhoods, and that this local knowledge is of great value to developing innovative built environment solutions. Alex brings a unique perspective to City Fabrick having over ten years of experience in the public, private, academic, and nonprofit sectors, and contributing to several award-winning initiatives across Southern California. As a local leader in the urban design and planning profession, Alex was acknowledged as the Outstanding Young Planner Award by APA Los Angeles in 2018, and continues to give back to the next generation of designers and planners as an instructor at local universities. Alex is AICP-certified, and holds a master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies & Planning from UCSD. Beyond his professional engagements, Alex loves to celebrate life with his wife and dog, and stay creative through his art and music.
