Yamilet Lara

Planner I

Yamilet Lara is an Urban Planner who is passionate about collaborating with underserved communities to improve the quality of life within their neighborhoods. At City Fabrick, Yamilet has conducted site analysis, contributing to comprehensive urban development plans, and assisting with data collection and analysis for zoning regulations and land use policies. Her favorite aspect of her job is engaging directly with community members, where she has the opportunity to listen to their stories and hear their suggestions firsthand. Yamilet’s goal is to make the planning process accessible to the impacted public, fostering collaboration that leads to changes and policies that truly reflect the needs and character of the community. She attended Cal State Long Beach where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geography and a certificate in Urban Studies. Both experiences provided her with a deep understanding of the complexities of urban planning. When she’s not busy planning the next community engagement, Yamilet enjoys spending her free time at concerts or watching the latest movies.
