City Fabrick collaborated with staff and youth to reinvigorate the tired but well-used interior space for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach Westside Center, located in Admiral Kidd Park, across from Cabrillo High School.
Working alongside Long Beach muralist Lynn Azali the colorful patterns were applied to each room, resulting in unique yet harmonious spaces across the clubhouse. The three color themed rooms, including the large Entry/Games room, the Learning Center and the Teen Room tie into the motif of the original exterior mural. New modern and flexible furniture for these vibrant spaces, tied everything together.

The goal was to create a vibrant space that would inspire kids using the site, creating a safe, inviting, and comfortable space for employees, visitors and parents. The design team engaged club leadership and the kids, as they weighed in on three design options, which included color schemes and furniture styles. In the end, the club chose a color scheme that was taken from an existing mural out in the play yard, creating cohesion between the outdoors and various interior spaces.
